It was tricky figuring out the which buildings can tolerate or which can't. Tip: Most buildings flooded will be abandoned or destroyed after. After anywhere from a game day to a game month, a tsunami will come and flood your city. ![]() Like earthquakes, click the area on the water (the longer you hold it the bigger the wave). You get to choose, your sims health or your economy.įor coastal cities (Land must be at least 30% water) you can trigger a tsunami. You can also build graveyards freely, as they will fill up as sims die. The higher the budget, the faster a vaccine will be found for the virus (advisor notifies you when they do!). This building is REQUIRED in order to make a vaccine. Note: Disease research center lowers the chances of outbreaks by 10% to 50% max depending on funding. Health advisor will pop up every few months to tell you the current death toll, cases, and how many have recovered. Lack of health coverage/funding will increase the chances of an outbreak occurring and they will be more severe. If set as "automatic disaster," then epidemics will happen randomly. The duration of the pandemic depends on both the initial severity and how well you handle it in-game. Like fires & riots, it can be set as an automatic disaster too (Similar to the "pandemic" event in SimCity Societies.) The longer you hold click on the area the more severe the virus. ![]() You can click on a specific region of the map and as the game months go by the sickness rates will increase and spread. Inspired by a certain virus which shall not be named here, this was the first disaster I made and it's what gave me the idea for the mod. Combined with my designer room-mate and animator, I was able to create a mod that may just be in the same calibre as NAM! Some of these were already coded in the game and some me and my super intelligent coding buddy created this. This mod will add new disasters from the game that I thought were missing. Note that I was told I'm allowed to distribute this mod as long as I don't sell it otherwise big scary men in black suits will show up to my house and destroy me. Luckily one of my relatives is friends with someone that works in EA and after talking to them, they gave me the specific source code I needed. Over the last year, I accessed some of the files and even contacted EA. I think that low income Sims simply does not simply pay enough tax, even in high density zones - so I probably will wait till I get manufacturing jobs and high-tech industry before zoning high density residential.Īnyway, I think I will check out the larger capacity hospitals as suggested by Max…it’s one of the problems I have with the game.SimCity 4 has a lot of cool disasters but I feel there's a few missing ones. High density zones usually lead to congested roads, and you’ll need mass transit or highways, which are expensive.
